"All We Want is Peace (Please)"

      The poem “All we want is Peace (Please)” by David Gordon is about people who want peace to overcome the world. 
      In lines 20 and 24 the words “Peace is all we want” are repeated. This poem uses alliteration, rhymes, and repetition. Alliteration is used in lines 1, 2, 7, 10, 14, 17, 20, 24, 26, 29, 39, 40, 41, and 42.  Rhyme is used in the sixth and eighth stanza. In the sixth stanza blown rhymes with grown and ask rhymes with task in the eighth stanza. This poem uses repetition in the first stanza peace and please is repeated; also “All we want is peace” is repeated in lines 20, 24, 41, and 42.   


"PEACE TO THE WORLD...."

    The poem "Peace to the world" by David Gordon is about how he wants peace to surround him. In line 10 - 13 Gordon describes how he wants " Peace in my personal Space." 
    This poem uses alliteration, imagery, simile, ode, and is an example of a free verse poem. Alliteration is used in lines 8 and 11, deep down in line 8 and peace and personal in line 11. Imagery and simile is used in lines 1 - 2 "Peace to the world like a flower in the sky."
